Abstract:Objective To investigate the effect of functional inferior turbinateplasty under nasal endoscope in the treatment of chronic hypertrophic rhinitis. Methods A total of 100 patients with chronic hypertrophic rhinitis admitted to our hospital from January 2015 to December 2016 were enrolled in the study group.Based on different surgical methods, the patients were divided into study group and control group,50 cases in each group. In the control group, partial turbinate resection under nasal endoscope was performed, while in the study group, functional inferior turbinateplasty under endoscope was adopted. The surgical related indexes, surgical results and postoperative complications were compared between the two groups. Results The total effectiveness rate of the study group was not different from that of the control group at one month after operation (P>0.05).The total effectiveness rate of the study group was superior to that of the control group 6 and 12 months after operation(P<0.05).The operation time and edema time were both shorter in the study group than that in the control group(P<0.05).The nitric oxide(NO)and C-reactive protein(CRP)indexes in the study group were lower than those in the control group (P<0.05).The blood loss in the study group was lower than that in the control group (P<0.05).The visual analog scale(VAS)of nasal resistance scores and total nasal resistance measurements were not different from the control group before surgery and one month after surgery (P>0.05).While 6 and 12 months after surgery, the VAS of nasal resistance and total nasal resistance measurements were lower than those in the control group (P<0.05).The incidence of postoperative complications in the study group was lower than that in the control group (P<0.05).Conclusion Compared with the treatment of partial inferior turbinate resection, the longterm effect of endoscopic functional inferior turbinateplasty for chronic hypertrophic rhinitis is better, and the incidence of postoperative complications is lower, which can effectively improve the quality of life of patients.
