Abstract:Objective To investigate the application effect of self-adhesive elastic bandage in the fixing intravenous indwelling needle for newborns. Methods A total of 240 cases of newborns who took intravenous indwelling needle in our hospital from February 2016 to June 2017 were selected as research subjects, and all of them were divided into the observation group and the control group according to the different fixation methods, with 120 cases in each group.Newborns in the observation group were given self-adhesive elastic bandage fixing method, and newborns in the control group were given routine fixing methods.Time of intravenous indwelling needle, adverse reactions and satisfaction of venous puncture care between the two groups were compared. Results The rate of indwelling needle retention time>72 h in the observation group was 92.50%,which was significantly higher than that in the control group (71.67%),the indwelling time in the observation group was(5.73±0.94)d,which was significantly longer than that in the control group accounting for(2.75±0.75)d,and differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).The total incidence rate of adverse reactions of intravenous indwelling needles in the observation group was 2.50%,which was significantly lower than that in the control group accounting for 28.33%,and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).The total satisfaction of venipuncture care of the neonatal family in the observation group was 96.67%,which was higher than that in the control group(90.00%),and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion Self-adhesive elastic bandage in the fixation of intravenous indwelling needle for newborns can significantly prolong the fixing time, decrease the adverse reaction rates and improve satisfaction of venous puncture care, which is worthy of clinical promotion and application.
