Abstract:Objective To discuss the effect of cluster nursing in preventing the ventilator-associated pneumonia(VAP)and lung function in newborn. Methods A total of 74 neonates who underwent mechanical ventilation from January to December 2017 were selected as research subjects, and divided into control group and observation group according to random number table method,37 cases in each group. The two groups of neonates were given routine nursing, while the observation group was received cluster nursing at the same time. The incidence of VAP in the two groups was compared, and the pulmonary function index(PEF,FRC and TEF25%)before and after nursing were measured, and the mechanical ventilation time and the time of hospitalization were recorded and compared in the two groups. Results The incidence of VAP in the observation group and control group were 16.22%(6/37)and 37.84%(14/37)respectively,the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).There were no differences in lung function indexes such as PEF,FRC and TEF25%in the two groups before nursing(P>0.05),and the levels of PEF,FRC and TEF25%in the observation group were higher than those in control group after nursing(P<0.05).The time of mechanical ventilation and length of stay in the observation group were shorter than those in control group, and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion Cluster nursing can effectively prevent the incidence of neonatal VAP,and protect the pulmonary function of newborns,as well as shorten the time of mechanical ventilation and hospitalization, which is worthy of clinical application.
