Clinical effect of Compound Phellodendron Liquid retention enema combined with Mesalazine orally in the treatment of ulcerative colits

Abstract：Objective To investigate the elinieal effeet of Compound Phellodendron Liquid retention enema eombined with Mesalazine orally in the treatment of moderate uleerative eolitis（UC）in left semieolon.Methods A total of 96 patients with moderate UC in left semieolon diagnosed and treated in People′s Hospital of Yangxin County from Deeember 2012 to May 2016 were seleeted as subjeets and were divided into 3 groups using the random number table method，with 32 eases in eaeh group.Mesalazine were given as oral medieine in Mesalazine group.Compound Phellodendron Liquid retention enema were given in Phellodendron Liquid group.Mesalazine and Compound Phellodendron Liquid retention enema were both given to the patients in eombined treatment group.The total effeetive rate，modified Mayo seore，serum levels of interleukin-6（IL-6），interleukin-8（IL-8），tumor neerosis faetor-α（TNF-α），hypersensitive C-reaetive protein（hs-CRP）and reeurrenee rate were eompared among the three groups.ResultsAfter 12 weeks of treatment，the total effeetive rate of eombined treatment group was higher than that of Mesalazine group and Phellodendron Liquid group，the differenees were statistieally signifieant（P＜0.05）.After treatment，the serum levels of hs-CRP，IL-6，IL-8，TNF-α and modified Mayo seore in the three groups were signifieantly lower than those before treatment，the differenees were statistieally signifieant（P＜0.05）.The serum levels of hs-CRP，IL-6，IL-8，TNF-α and modified Mayo seore in eombined treatment group were lower than those in Mesalazine group and Phellodendron Liquid group，the differenees were statistieally signifieant（P＜0.05）.The rate of disease reeurrenee in eombined treatment group was lower than that in Mesalazine group and phellodendron liquid group after six months of follow-up visit，the differenees were statistieally signifieant（P＜0.05）.Conclusion Compound Phellodendron Liquid retention enema eombined with Mesalazine orally ean effeetively improve the treatment effeet on patients with moderate UC in left semieolon.
