Abstract:Objective To explore the feasibility of ambulatory laparoscopic cholecystectomy. Methods A retrospective review of 83 patients who underwent laparoscopic cholecystectomy from June 2014 to May 2016 in our center was performed.Depending on whether the patient was operated on the day of admission and discharged within 24 h,they were divided into ambulatory group(n=38)and inpatient group(n=45).The operation time, length of hospital stay, postoperative complication and hospitalization expense were compared between the two groups. Results The differences were not statistically significant in operation time and postoperative complication incidence between the two groups(P>0.05),while the differences were statistically significant in length of hospital stay and hospitalization expense (P<0.05).ConclusionAmbulatory laparoscopic cholecystectomy can shorten length of hospital stay and reduce hospitalization expense significantly, which is safe and feasible.
