Abstract:Objective To explore the clinical effect of distal tibial intramedullary nail and distal tibial locking plate in the treatment of distal tibiofibular fractures. Methods 61 cases of distal tibial and fibula fractures treated in our hospital from October 2013 to October 2014 were selected and divided into the control group(n=30)and the observation group(n=31)according to the different treatment methods. The control group received locking plate treatment, observation group patients were treated with intramedullary nail. The fracture healing condition and general surgery were compared between the two groups. Results The observation group fracture healing excellent rate was 67.7%,which was significantly higher than 53.3%of the control group, the difference was statistically significant(χ2=3.918,P<0.05).The operation time,X-ray time, incision length and fracture healing time of the observation group were significantly shorter than those of the control group, the differences were statistically significant(t=4.826,6.245,5.277,2.978,P<0.05).There was no significant difference in the incidence of postoperative complications between the two groups(P>0.05).Conclusion The distal tibial intramedullary nail in the treatment of distal tibial and fibula fractures has a good clinical effect,it can shorten the fracture healing time, the operation is simple, safe and reliable,it is worthy of clinical application.
