Abstract:Objective To investigate the correlation between serum non-high density lipoprotein-cholesterol(non-HDL-C)and neurological impairment in acute phase of cerebral infarction. Methods A total of 132 patients with cerebral infarction admitted to the Department of Neurology,Zhaoqing Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine from April 2018 to May 2020 were selected as the research objects, and 66 healthy people during the same period were selected as the control group. The differences of blood lipid levels between the two groups were analyzed.According to the level of non-HDL-C,the patients with cerebral infarction were divided into normal non-HDL-C group and elevated non-HDL-C group. The clinical data, blood lipid levels and neurological function scores of patients with different levels of non-HDL-C were compared. The correlation between non-LDL-C level and other blood lipid indexes, neurological function indexes was analyzed. Results The level of HDL-C in the cerebral infarction group was lower than that in the control group, and the levels of non-HDL-C,low-density lipoprotein cholesterol(LDL-C),total cholesterol(TC),and triacylglycerol(TG)were higher than those in the control group, the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).The proportion of male in patients with elevated non-HDL-C was higher than that in patients with normal non-HDL-C,the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).The levels TC,non-HDL-C,LDL-C,TG and National Institutes of Health stroke scale(NIHSS)score in patients with elevated non-HDL-C were higher than those in patients with normal non-HDL-C,while HDL-C level and Scandinavian stroke scale(SSS)score were lower than those in patients with normal non-HDL-C,with statistically significant differences(P<0.05).The non-HDL-C was positively correlated with TC,LDL-C,TG and NIHSS score, but negatively correlated with HDL-C and SSS score(P<0.05).Conclusion Serum non-HDL-C has a significant positive correlation with neurological impairment in acute stage of cerebral infarction, which can be used as a marker for evaluating neurological impairment in cerebral infarction.
