Effectiveness of PDCA cycle nursing on stigma and quality of life in patients with stroke with dysphagia

Abstract:Objective To explore the effectiveness of Plan-Do-Check-Action (PDCA) nursing in patients with stroke with dysphagia. Methods A total of 126 patients with stroke with dysphagia treated in Dalian Fifth People′s Hospital from March 2019 to October 2020 were selected. They were divided into the observation group and the control group by random number table method, 63 cases in each group. The control group was implied daily recovery training model and the observation group was implied PDCA nursing recovery training model. After six weeks, swallowing function, stigma and quality of life were compared between two groups. Results Before the intervention, the situation of swallowing function, stima and quality of life of the observation were no statistically significant between observation group and control group (P>0.05). After intervention, scores of swallowing function, stigma of observation were lower than those of the control group, score of quality of life in observation were higher than that of the control group, the differences were statistically significant (P<0.05). Conclusion PDCA cycle nursing had a positive influence on improving condition, enhancing their quality of life and had certain value in the application of clinic.
