Influence of cognitive behavioral social skills training on quality of life and social function in elderly patients with schizophrenia

Abstract:Objective To explore the cognitive behavioral social skills training on quality of life and social function in elderly patients with schizophrenia.Methods A total of 86 elderly patients with schizophrenia in Wu Zhongpei Memorial Hospital of Shunde District in Foshan City from December 2018 to December 2019 were selected and divided into experimental group and control group using the random number table method,43 cases in each group.The control group was given antipsychotic drug treatment and routine nursing intervention,while the experimental group was given cognitive behavioral social skills training on that basis.The scale of social function in psychosis inpatients(SSPI)and ability of daily living(ADL)were used to evaluate the changes of social function and quality of life of the patients before and after the intervention,and questionnaire was used to investigate the nursing satisfaction of the two groups.Results Before the intervention,there were no significant differences in the social function scores and SSPI total score between the two groups(P>0.05).After the intervention,the social function scores and SSPI total score of the two groups were higher than those before the intervention,and the social function scores and SSPI total score of the experimental group were higher than those of the control group,the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).Before the intervention,there were no significant differences in all aspects of quality of life scores and ADL total score between the two groups(P>0.05).After the intervention,all aspects of quality of life scores and ADL total score of the two groups were lower than those before the intervention,and all aspects of quality of life scores and ADL total score of the experimental group were lower than those of the control group,the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).The total nursing satisfaction rate of the experimental group was higher than that of the control group,and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion The application of cognitive behavioral social skills training is helpful to improve the quality of life and social function of elderly patients with schizophrenia,and can improve nursing satisfaction,with good clinical effect.
