Clinical value of ultrasound combined with vaginal injection of physiological saline in the diagnosis of vaginal foreign bodies in young girls and unmarried women

Abstract：Objective To explore the clinical value of ultrasound combined with vaginal injection of physiological saline in the diagnosis of vaginal foreign bodies in young girls and unmarried women.Methods A total of 64 patients with vaginal foreign bodies treated in Ganzhou Maternal and Child Health Hospital were selected as the observation subjects from October 2017 to November 2020.All patients underwent ultrasound examination and vaginal injection of physiological saline.The diagnosis results of ultrasound examination(single detection)and ultrasound combined with vaginal injection of physiological saline(combined detection)were comparatively analyzed.The confirmation rate of foreign bodies was compared between the two detection methods.Results Among the 64 patients with vaginal foreign bodies,vaginal bleeding and abnormal secretions were the most common reasons for visits,with the incidence rate of 79.69%.Abdominal ultrasound examination showed that there were abnormal echoes such as strong echoes in both single detection and combined detection,and the causes of which could not be confirmed by single detection,while all causes could be confirmed by combined detection.The confirmation rate of vaginal foreign bodies of the combined detection was 100.00%,which was higher than 87.50% of single detection,the difference was statistically significant(χ2=8.533,P<0.05).Conclusion Ultrasound combined with vaginal injection of physiological saline is more accurate in the diagnosis of vaginal foreign bodies in young girls and unmarried women,and there are no adverse events,which is of higher clinical value.
