Abstract:Objective To observe the effect and safety of using different fractional dose in accelerated hyperfractionated radiotherapy for localized small cell lung cancer. Methods A retrospective collection of 30 patients with localized small cell lung cancer admitted to the Department of Thoracic Surgery, Guangdong Agricultural Reclamation Center Hospital from January 2018 to December 2019 was conducted for research. All patients received conventional chemotherapy combined with accelerated hyperfractionated radiotherapy, and they were divided into two groups according to the fractional dose. The total dose of the control group (15 cases) was 45 Gy, and the total dose of the observation group (15 cases) was 60 Gy. The efficacy, incidence of adverse reactions, and quality of life of the two groups were observed and compared. Results The effective rate of treatment in the observation group (80.00%) was higher than that in the control group (60.00%), and the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05). There was no statistically significant difference in the incidence of adverse reactions between the two groups during the treatment period (P>0.05). At one month of follow-up, the total quality of life score in the observation group ([80.22±3.46] points) was higher than that in the control group ([60.81±3.67] points), the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05). Conclusion Localized small cell lung cancer by accelerated hyperfractionated radiotherapy, appropriately increasing the fractional dose has no significant increase in adverse reactions. It has higher safety and more significant curative effect, which can effectively improve the quality of life of patients.
