Expression and significance of receptor for advanced glycation end products and vascular endothelial growth factor protein in non-small cell lung cancer

Abstract:Objective To investigate the expression and significance of receptor for advanced glycation end products(RAGE) and vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) protein in non-small cell lung cancer.Methods Ten patients with non-small cell lung cancer admitted to Jiangxi Provincial People′s Hospital from January 2018 to December 2019 were selected.A total of 10 samples of non-small cell lung cancer tissues were collected,and another 10 samples of adjacent normal tissues were collected as controls.Realtime PCR was used to detect the expression of RAGE and VEGF in non-small cell lung cancer tissues and adjacent normal tissues,and Pearson was used to analyze the correlation between RAGE and VEGF in non-small cell lung cancer tissues.Results The expression level of RAGE mRNA in non-small cell lung cancer tissues (0.015±0.009) was lower than that in adjacent normal tissues (1.000±0.000),and the difference was statistically significant (P<0.01).The expression level of VEGF mRNA in non-small cell lung cancer tissues (4.040±1.650) was higher than that in adjacent normal tissues (1.000±0.000),and the difference was statistically significant (P<0.01).Pearson correlation analysis showed that RAGE was negatively correlated with VEGF expression in non-small cell lung cancer tissues (r=-0.654,P<0.01).Conclusion The low expression of RAGE and the high expression of VEGF in lung cancer could be used as an effective index to judge the occurrence of lung cancer.
