Abstract：Objective To investigate the clinical outcome of retarded embryo for frozen-thawed embryo transfer (FET)cycle on fertilization day 3.Methods Retrospective analysis of the clinical data of 684 patients with the cycle FET admitted to Reproductive Center, Guangzhou Medical University Affiliated Sixth Hospital (Qingyuan People′s Hospital)from January 2015 to March 2020 was made, they were divided into group A (4-5 cell group) and group B (7-9 cell group) according to the different number of embryos blastocyst on day 3 of fertilization.Pregnancy outcomes were compared between the two groups.Results The clinical pregnancy rate and live birth rate of the group A were lower than those of the group B, the differences were statistically significant (P＜0.05).There were no statistically significant differences in biochemical pregnancy rate, ectopic pregnancy rate, abortion rate and multiple (twin) pregnancy rate as well as the mean birth weight between two groups (P＞0.05).Conclusion The clinical pregnancy rate of retarded embryo on fertilization day 3 can is lower than that of normal embryos, but the clinical outcome of pregnant patients after transplantation is similar to that of normal embryos.Retarded embryo can be frozen as a reserve to reduce the waste of resources and the mental and financial burden on patients.
