Abstract:The Department of Pulmonary Disease of the Third Affiliated Hospital of Henan University of Traditional Chinese Medicine has developed methylation detection technology for the combination of short stature homeobox 2(SHOX2)and Ras association domain family 1 A(RASSF1A)genes for the diagnosis of pulmonary nodules and early screening of lung cancer.Among them, the results of 1 case were not consistent with the surgical pathology results and presented false negative results. This paper analyzed the reasons for the false negative results in this case, which may be related to the improper selection of specimen types, insufficient specimen volume, and different positive rates and sensitities of SHOX2 and RASSF1A genes combination methylation detection for lung cancer with different pathological types and different degrees of differentiation.
