Abstract:Objective To discuss the effect of Levothyroxine Sodium on thyroid function and maternal and neonatal outcomes in pregnant women with hypothyroidism. Methods A total of 86 pregnant women with hypothyroidism treated in our hospital from January 2018 to January 2020 were selected as subjects and were divided into study group (43 cases)and routine group (43 cases) according to random number table method. The routine group took the conventional living guidance; on the basis of the former, the study group took Levothyroxine Sodium. The changes of serum free triiodothyronine (FT3), free thyroxine (FT4), thyroid-stimulating hormone (TSH), vitamin B12 and homocysteine (Hcy) levels before and after treatment between the two groups were observed. The maternal and neonatal outcomes were analyzed. Results After treatment, TSH level in the study group was lower than that in the routine group, with statistically significant difference (P<0.05).FT3 and FT4 levels after treatment in the study group were higher than those in the routine group, with statistically significant differences (P<0.05).Vitamin B12 level in the study group after treatment was higher than that in the routine group, with statistically significant difference (P<0.05).The total incidence of poor maternal and neonatal outcomes in the study group (2.33%) was lower than that in the routine group (16.28%), with statistically significant difference (P<0.05).Conclusion Levothyroxine Sodium can improve the thyroid hormone levels, reduce the incidence of poor maternal and neonatal outcomes and play a role in the long-term fetal development.
