Meta-analysis of FLT3-TKD gene mutation on the prognosis of acute myeloid leukemia

Abstract:Objective To evaluate the influence of FLT3-TKD mutation on the prognosis of acute myeloid leukemia(AML)using meta-analysis.Methods “FLT3-TKD”,“D835” and “Acute Myeloid Leukemia” as English terms were searched in Pubmed.“FLT3-TKD”,“D835” and “Jixing Suixi Baixuebing” (in Chinese characters;acute myeloid leukemia)were searched in China National Knowledge Infrastructure and Wanfang database.The retrieval time was from the inception to April 14,2018.Results Eight articles were included,and 7 in English-version and 1 in Chinese,with a total of 3430 patients.Meta-analysis showed that there were no statistical differences in a complete response rate(CR)(HR=1.06,95%CI 0.99-1.14,P=0.07)and disease-free survival(DFS)(HR=1.44,95%CI=0.99-2.09,P=0.06).The overall survival rate(OS)(HR=1.37,95%CI=1.12-1.67,P=0.002)was displayed a statistical difference between the two groups.Conclusion FLT3-TKD gene mutation may be a risk factor for poor prognosis in patients with AML.
