Abstract:Objective To analyze the clinical effect of intravenous injection of Methylprednisolone at SJ 19 in the treatment of sudden deafness. Methods Eighty patients with sudden deafness admitted to the Department of Otorhinolaryngology, Zhongshan Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine from August 2016 to April 2018 were selected as the subjects. They were randomly divided into control group(Methylprednisolone i.v.)and treatment group(Methylprednisolone injection via SJ 19).The treatment effect of the two groups was compared. Results The total therapeutic effectiveness rate in the treatment group was 92.5%, higher than that in the control group accounting for 75.0%, with a significant difference (P<0.05).The total incidence of adverse reactions in the treatment group was 7.5%, lower than that in the control group (25.0%), with statistical significance (P<0.05).There was no difference in the threshold test results between the two groups before treatment (P>0.05).After treatment, the threshold test result of the treatment group was lower than that of the control group, with a statistical difference (P<0.05).Conclusion The injection of Methylprednisolone at SJ 19 in the treatment of sudden deafness has the characteristics of exact effect, simple positioning, simple performance and mild damage, and high safety. It is especially applied for patients with sudden deafness but contraindicated with the use of systemic hormone, and is a featured traditional Chinese medicine technique recommended in clinical practice.
