Treatment effect of high intensity focused ultrasound on ovarian cancer and its influence on immune function of rats

Abstract:Objective To investigate the treatment effect of high intensity focused ultrasound on ovarian cancer and its influence on immune function of rats.Methods A total of 40 SD rats were selected to construct ovarian cancer in situ models and were randomly divided into control group and HIFU group.HIFU group was treated with local HIFU,while the control group was treated with sham irradiation.The survival state of rats in the two groups were observed,the growth of the tumor were detected,the histomorphological changes of the tumor were observed by HE staining,and the level of CD4+and CD8+in the plasma were detected by flow cytometry.Results In HIFU group,the living conditions of the rats were not changed or improved treated by HIFU for 7 days,while the rats in the control group gradually failed.The median survival time of rats in HIFU group was(48.0±4.5)d,which was significantly longer than that in the control group ([40.0±3.6]d)(P<0.05).The average weight of tumor in HIFU group was(1.37±0.92)g,which was significantly lower than that in control group([2.86±0.73]g)(P<0.05).There were significant morphological changes in the ovarian tissue of rats in HIFU group,and the CD4+in the plasma was significantly higher than that in the control group,while the CD8+was significantly lower than the control group,and the CD4+/CD8+was higher than the control group,and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion HIFU may inhibit tumor growth,which may be related to enhancing immune function of the body.
