Abstract:Objective To study the changes of serum lipids and adverse reaction triggered by Arsenic Trioxide in acute promyelocytic leukemia with the combination of chemotherapy. Methods A total of 64 patients with acute promyelocytic leukemia in our department of internal medicine in our hospital from April 2005 to March 2015 were selected. The levels of serum total cholesterol(TC)and triacylglycerol(TG),adverse reactions, survival rate and recurrence rate were analyzed during combination of Arsenic Trioxide and chemotherapy. Results After 3 courses oftreatment, the indexes of TC and TG were both displayed increasing tendency with statistical differences(P<0.05).The adverse reaction was mainly occurred in digestive system, and the most serious adverse reactions were bone marrow suppression and damages on the functions of liver and kidney. The survival rates 6,12,18 months after treatment was 96.77%,91.94%,85.48%respectively,the recurrence rate 6,12,18 months after treatment was 9.68%,6.45%,4.84%respectively.Conclusion In the clinical treatment of acute promyelocytic leukemia, combination of Arsenic Trioxide and chemotherapy will lead to the increase of serum lipids as well as many types of adverse reactions.
