Abstract:Objective To explore the clinical effect of orthodontic therapy on traumatic luxated teeth in children. Methods From August 2013 to February 2014,74 children with traumatic luxated teeth diagnosed and treated in our hospital were selected as research objects.According to different therapeutic methods, they were evenly divided into treatment group(orthodontic therapy,n=37)and control group(manual reposition combining with dental arch bar splint fixation, n=37).The therapeutic effect and satisfaction on the therapeutic outcomes were compared in two groups. Results The total therapeutic effective rates in the treatment group and control group was 94.6%and 73.0%respectively,which were displayed statistical differences(P<0.05).Among all these participants,72 ones were in good recovery without loose teeth or percussion pain. The periodontium was healthy and there was no obvious gingival recession or recession in alveolar bone. There was one case occurred with mild recession of periodontium and another one with mild loose teeth. Conclusion In the treatment of traumatic luxated teeth in children, orthodontic therapy can obtain a definite clinical effect. It can effectively correct and fix the involved teeth, restore the masticatory function, and increase the therapeutic satisfaction by pediatric patients, which can be considered as the preferred treatment for traumatic luxated teeth in children.
