Abstract:ObjectiveTo explore the effect of prevention and nursing intervention on common complications of radiotherapy for nasopharyngeal carcinoma.Methods90 patients with nasopharyngeal carcinoma in our hospital from January 2015 to January 2017 were selected and were randomly divided into the study group and the control group, with 45 patients in each group. The control group was given routine nursing intervention, and the study group was given preventive nursing intervention. The satisfaction degree towards nursing intervention, differences in quality of life before and after the nursing, and the incidence rate of radiotherapy complications of nasopharyngeal carcinoma were compared between two groups.ResultsThe satisfaction rate towards nursing intervention was 93.33%in the study group, which was higher than that in the control group(82.22%),and there was significant difference between the two groups(P<0.05).There was no significant difference in the quality of life between the two groups before nursing(P>0.05);after nursing, the quality of life in the study group was higher than that in the control group, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05); in terms of the complications of radiotherapy for nasopharyngeal carcinoma, the incidence rate of radiodermatitis in the study group(44.44%)was lower than that in the control group(66.67%);the incidence rate of nausea and vomiting in the study group(82.22%)was lower than that in the control group(93.33%);the incidence rate of oropharyngeal mucosa reactions in the study group(44.44%)was also lower than that in the control group(68.89%).There were statistically significant differences in the incidence rates of the three types of complications between the two groups(P<0.05).Conclusion The common complications of radiotherapy for nasopharyngeal carcinoma are nausea and vomiting, radioactive skin reaction, oropharyngeal mucositis, etc.Preventive nursing method is effective, which can effectively prevent the occurrence of complications, and improve patients′satisfaction and quality of life, which is worthy of promotion and application.
