Abstract:Thermostasis is a critical factor to ensure the normal physiological function of human body.Shivering is a common complication which can be induced by versatility reasons during anesthesia.Shivering is a stress reaction in which the temperature regulating center orders the skeletal muscles to contract fast to increase body temperature, especially under intraspinal anesthesia. As a new selective α2-adrenergic receptor agonist.Dexmedetomidine with the sedation and analgesia effect, has high effectiveness on preventing shivering and optimizing the quality of intraspinal anesthesia. This paper reviews to investigate the effect of dexmedetomidine on preventing shivering during intraspinal anesthesia.
