Abstract:Objective To investigate the clinical efficacy of stellate ganglion block in the treatment of tension headache. Methods Altogether 52 cases of tension headache patients who had been treated in the hospital from February 2014 to March 2015 were involved as the research object and accepted the stellate ganglion block treatment for 4 weeks. All the patients were followed up for 3 months after the treatment so as to compare the pre-treatment and post-treatment headache times, pain scores, duration time and the therapeutic effect. Results The post-treatment headache times, pain scores and duration time were lower than those of pre-treatment[(2.3±0.5)times/d vs(8.8±2.1)times/d;(2.1±0.4)scores vs(5.2±2.0)scores;(3.2±0.8)min vs(12.1±3.2)min,P<0.01].The post-treatment excellent rate was higher than that of pre-treatment(90.38%vs 17.31%,P<0.01).Conclusion The stellate ganglion block proves its clinical efficacy in significant improvement of symptoms for tension headache patients.
