Abstract：Objective To explore the application of quality control circle in reducing the incidence of urine leakage in patients with neurosurgical indwelling urethral catheters.Methods The clinical data of 606 cases of indwelling urinary catheter patients admitted to our department from January to December 2018 were retrospectively analyzed, the current situation of urinary leakage was analyzed using quality control circle management.The countermeasures were formulated and implemented based on the main factors such as the excessively fast rinsing fluid flow rate, improper selection of the urinary tube, improper water injection in the airbag and urinary tube fixation methods.The results before and after improvement were compared and no results were analyzed.Results The incidence of urethral catheters after improvement was 10.2%, which was lower than 23.9% before improvement.Target compliance rate was 106.2%, and progress rate was 57.3%.Teamwork, professional knowledge, communication and coordination, activity confidence, responsibility honors and quality control circle techniques had all improved significantly.Conclusion Carrying out quality control circle activities can effectively reduce the occurrence of urine leakage from indwelling urethral catheter.
