Abstract:Objective To explore the clinical effect of open tympanoplasty combined with mastoidectomy in the treatment of chronic suppurative otitis media.MethodsA total of 116 patients with chronic suppurative otitis media who were admitted to our hospital from August 2016 to August 2017 were selected as the study subjects.According to the random number table method,they were divided into simple group and combined group,with 58 cases in each group.The simple group was given radical mastoidectomy alone,and the combined group was given open tympanoplasty combined with radical mastoidectomy.The total effective rate of treatment,the shape change of the external auditory canal after surgery,and ear dryness time were compared between two groups.Results The total effective rate in the combined group was 98.28%,which was significantly higher than that in the simple group (86.21%),and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).Improvement of external auditory canal shape after surgery in the combined group(the normal rate[93.10%],the small cavity rate[3.45%],the mid-cavity rate[3.45%],the large cavity rate[0.00%])were superior to those in the simple group (the normal rate [10.34%],the small cavity rate [34.48%],the mid-cavity rate[44.83%],the large cavity rate [10.34%]),and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).The average ear dryness time after treatment in the combined group was(33.56±2.47)d,which was significantly shorter than that in the simple group of(45.67±3.45)d,and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion For patients with chronic suppurative otitis media,the effect of open tympanoplasty combined with mastoidectomy is significant.It can shorten the postoperative ear dryness time and improve the life quality of patients,which is worthy of further clinical application.
