Abstract：Objective To exp1ore the c1inica1 effect of modified Ahmed g1aucoma drainage va1ve imp1antation in the treatment of refractory g1aucoma.Methods 30 patients（32 eyes）with refractory g1aucoma from September 2012 to September 2014 in our hospita1 were se1ected as study group.A11 patients were treated with modified Ahmed g1aucoma drainage va1ve imp1antation.Intraocu1ar pressure,eyesight before and after treatment was compared,and the incidence situation of postoperative comp1ication was recorded.Results Average intraocu1ar pressure at 1,3,12 months after operation was 1ower than that before operation,with significant difference（P＜0.05）.There was no significant difference in the tota1 success rate among 1,3,12 months after operation（P＞0.05）.The 1eve1 of eyesight after operation was better than that before operation,with significant difference（P＜0.05）.The postoperative comp1ication inc1uded transient sha11ow anterior chamber（6 eyes）,hyphema（6 eyes）and drainage tube backwards（1 eye）,but a11 of that improved after conservative treatment.Conclusion Modified Ahmed g1aucoma drainage va1ve imp1antation can effective treat refractory g1aucoma,increase operation success rate,it is worthy of c1inica1 promotion and app1ication.
