Abstract:Objective To explore the effect of the Infusion Therapy Standards of Practice formulated by the Infusion Nursing Society(INS)in 2016 in neonatal intensive care unit(NICU).Methods A total of 568 children treated with infusion therapy from December 2019 to February 2020 in NICU ward of Hengyang Maternal and Child Health Hospital were selected as the control group, and 407 children treated with infusion therapy from September 2020 to November 2020 were selected as the observation group. The control group received conventional infusion treatment, and the observation group received infusion treatment according to the Infusion Therapy Standards of Practice. The infusion site, application, fixation and maintenance, catheter maintenance, infusion connection, puncture tools and complications were compared between the two groups. Results Comparison of infusion sites between the two groups showed statistical significance(P<0.05).The selection rate of the back of hand, armpit and forearm was higher in the observation group, and the selection rate of the back of hand, joint and armpit was higher in the control group. The qualified rates of application fixation and maintenance, catheter maintenance and infusion connection in the observation group were higher than those in the control group, the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).The total incidence of complications in the observation group was lower than that in the control group, the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).There was no significant difference in the types of intravenous infusion tools between the two groups(P>0.05).Conclusion Through the Infusion Therapy Standards of Practice,to carry out the quality control of intravenous treatment process, can promote the NICU nurses to reasonably select the puncture site, standardize the fixation and maintenance of the puncture site,so as to reduce the occurrence of neonatal intravenous infusion related complications, improve the quality of neonatal intravenous treatment nursing, and ensure the safety of neonatal intravenous treatment nursing.
