Abstract：Objective To explore the clinical application value of external application of Chinese medicine in the treatment of lactation mastitis during mass stagnation stage. Methods A total of 200 cases of lactation mastitis patients during mass stagnation stage in the First Affiliated Hospital of Nanchang University from August 30, 2017 to August 30, 2019 were selected as the research objects. The patients were divided into the traditional treatment group and the Chinese medicine external application group by the random number table method, with 100 patients in each group. The traditional treatment group was treated with milking of traditional Chinese medicine method and antibiotics, and the Chinese medicine external application group was treated with Ruyi Golden Powder on the basis of the traditional treatment. The total response rate, visual analogue scale (VAS) score before and after treatment, mass size and rate of breast reflux were compared between the two groups. Results The total effective rate in the Chinese medicine external application group was higher than that in the traditional treatment group, and the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05). The VAS score in the Chinese medicine external application group was lower than that in the traditional treatment group, and the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05). The mass range of the Chinese medicine external application group was lower than that of the traditional treatment group, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05). The rate of breast reflux of the Chinese medicine external application group was lower than that of the traditional treatment group, and the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05). Conclusion It has good clinical application value for patients with lactation mastitis during mass stagnation stage to add local external application of Chinese medicine treatment on the basis of traditional treatment, which can effectively relieve the pain of patients, improve the mass range of patients, and reduce the rate of milk regurgitation.
