Abstract:Objective To explore the effect of Levetiracetam on partial seizures in adults with refractory epilepsy, and its effect on the immune function of patients. Methods A total of 80 adult patients with refractory epilepsy who were admitted to Liaoning Health Industry Group Iron Coal General Hospital from January 2017 to January 2019 were selected as the research subjects. They were divided into the experimental group (40 cases) and the control group (40 cases) by random number table method. The control group was given oral Topiramate and Carbamazepine, and the experimental group was given Levetiracetam on the basis of the control group. Both groups were treated for 6 months. The effect of treatment, changes of immune function indexes before and after treatment and the incidence of adverse reactions were compared between the two groups. Results The total effective rate of the experimental group was 72.50%,which was higher than 47.50% of the control group, and the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05).After treatment, the levels of IgA,IgG and IgM in the two groups were higher than before, and the levels of IgA,IgG and IgM in the experimental group were higher than those in the control group, the differences were statistically significant (P<0.05).There was no significant difference in T cell subsets in the control group before and after treatment (P>0.05).After treatment, the levels of CD3+ and CD4+ in the experimental group were higher than before treatment, the level of CD8+ was lower than before treatment, and the levels of CD3+ and CD4+ in the experimental group were higher than those of the control group and the level of CD8+ was lower than that of the control group, the differences were statistically significant (P<0.05).Conclusion The efficacy of Levetiracetam in the treatment of refractory epilepsy in adults is definite and can significantly improve the immune function of patients, which is worthy of clinical application.
