Abstract:Objective To investigate the risk factors associated with type 2 diabetic peripheral neuropathy in Chinese population through systematic evaluation.Methods The computer system was used to retrieve the related studies on risk factors for type 2 diabetic peripheral neuropathy in Chinese population in PubMed,EMbase,Chinese biomedical literature database(CBM),China national knowledge infrastructure (CNKI),Weipu Chinese science and technology journal full-text database (VIP) and WanFang databases (WanFang).The retrieval time limit was from January 2000 to February 2020,at the same time,references included in the literature were retrieved complementally.Two reviewers independently selected literatures based on inclusion and exclusion criteria,extracted data,and evaluated the quality using Rev Man 5.3 software for systematic review,using fixed-effect models or random-effect models to combine odds ratio(OR)values and 95%confidence intervals (CI) to analyze various relevant risk factors.Sensitivity analysis was used to evaluate the stability of the results and funnel plot was used to evaluate the publication bias of the literature.Results A total of 12 articles were included,with a total sample size of 7886 cases.There were 10 risk factors included in the analysis,including age,glycosylated hemoglobin,duration of diabetes,fasting blood glucose,2-hour postprandial blood glucose,systolic blood pressure,diastolic blood pressure,cholesterol,triglyceride and body mass index.The results showed that age,course of diabetes,glycosylated hemoglobin,fasting blood glucose were risk facters affecting the occurrence of diabetic peripheral neuropathy.Conclusion It is preliminarily determined that age,course of diabetes,glycosylated hemoglobin and fasting blood glucose are important independent risk factors affecting the occurrence of diabetic peripheral neuropathy.This study provides an important basis for early prevention and treatment of diabetic peripheral neuropathy.
