Abstract:Objective To explore the application value of shock wave combined with transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation (TENS)in treatment of gastrocnemius spasm after stroke (CVA).Methods All of 30 cases of patients with gastrocnemius spasm after CVA who received in our hospital from February to July 2018 were selected,and were numbered by the odd and even.15 cases of odd numbered patients were treated with shock wave combined with TENS as the observation group,while 15 cases of even number of patients were treated with TENS as the control group.Then,the treatment effect and changes of the length of the gastrocnemius muscle bundles,the exercise energy (FMA)score and activity of daily living(ADL)score before and after treatment of two groups of patients were compared.Results The total effective rate of treatment in the observation group was 93.33%,which was higher than that in the control group of 73.33% (P<0.05).There was no significant difference in ankle 0°position and ankle plantar flexion 30°position extremely acute fasciculus length before treatment between the two groups(P>0.05).After treatment,the ankle 0°position and ankle metatarsal flexion 30°position extremely acute fasciculus length in the observation group were significantly higher than those in the control group (P<0.05).Before treatment,there was no significant difference in FMA and ADL scores between the observation group and the control group (P>0.05).After treatment,the scores of FMA and ADL in the observation group were higher than those before treatment and in the control group(P<0.05).Conclusion The treatment effects of shock wave combined with TENS in treatment of gastrocnemius spasm after CAV are significant,which can effectively promote the recovery of motor function of patients,thus it is worth promoting and using.
