Abstract:Objective To explore the application of health education measures of Maslow′s hierarchy of needs theory in patients with secondary cesarean section. Methods Sixty patients with secondary cesarean section admitted to our hospital from February 2017 to February 2019 were selected as study subjects.According to the random number table method, the patients were divided into study group (30 cases) and control group (30 cases).Control group was given routine nursing, while study group was given health education measures of Maslow′s hierarchy of needs theory. The psychological status (Chinese version of profile of mood states [POMS]), cognitive status (Montreal cognitive assessment scale [MoCA]) and self-esteem level (Rosenberg self-esteem scale [SES]) were compared between the two groups before health education and at 5 d after operation. Results At 5 d after operation, the POMS score in study group was lower than that before education and that in control group, the differences were statistically significant (P<0.05).At 5 d after operation, the MoCA scores in the two groups were higher than those before education, and the MoCA score in study group was higher than that in control group, the differences were statistically significant (P<0.05).The SES score in study group at 5 d after operation was higher than that before education and that in control group, the differences were statistically significant (P<0.05). Conclusion Health education measures of Maslow′s hierarchy of needs theory can effectively improve psychological status and enhance the cognition and self-esteem level.
