Abstract:Objective To explore the application effect of traditional Chinese medicine foot bath in patients with Oxaliplatin chemotherapy-induced hand-foot syndrome (HFSR).Methods A total of 60 patients with HFSR caused by Oxaliplatin chemotherapy admitted to our hospital from July 2017 to August 2019 were selected as the study objects. The patients were divided into the control group and the observation group by random number table method, 30 cases in each group. The patients in both groups received routine nursing measures for HFSR.The control group received vitamin B6 orally, and the observation group received traditional Chinese medicine foot bath. The classification of HFSR before and after intervention was compared between the two groups. Results Before treatment, there was no statistically significant difference in the grade data of HFSR between the two groups (P>0.05), and the observation group was better than that of the control group after treatment, with statistical difference (P<0.05).Total effectiveness of intervention in the observation group was 93.33%, which was higher than that of the control group (73.33%).The onset time in the observation group was (3.21±0.54) d, earlier than that of the control group (9.17±1.42) d, with statistical differences (P<0.05).No adverse reactions such as skin allergy or skin irritation occurred in the two groups of patients during the treatment. Conclusion Traditional Chinese medicine foot massage has a definite effect on HFSR caused by Oxaliplatin chemotherapy, can significantly reduce the classification of HFSR, has advantages of short onset time and high safety, and is worthy of clinical application.
