Influence of emotional nursing on negative emotions and self-behavior management of elderly patients with diabetic nephropathy treated by long-term hemodialysis

Abstract:Objective To explore the effects of emotional nursing on negative emotions and self-behavior management of elderly patients with diabetic nephropathy (DN) treated by long-term hemodialysis.Methods Seventy elderly DN patients with long-term hemodialysis in our hospital from June 2016 to June 2018 were enrolled.The patients were divided into control group and observation group according to the random number table method, 35 cases in each group.The control group was given routine nursing, and the observation group was given emotional nursing.The depression,anxiety, self-behavior management score and quality of life diabetes specific quality of life (DSQL) were compared between the two groups before nursing and after 3 months of nursing.Results After 3 months of nursing, the scores of self-rating anxiety scale (SAS) and self-rating depression scale (SDS) in the two groups were lower than those before nursing (P<0.05), and the SAS, SDS score in observation group were lower than those in control group, the differences were statistically significant (P<0.05).The scores of self-behavioral management in the two groups were higher than those before nursing, and the score in observation group was higher than that in control group, the differences were statistically significant (P<0.05).The scores of physiological dimension, psychological dimension, social relationship dimension and treatment dimension and total score of quality of life scale in the two groups were lower than those before nursing, and the scores in observation group were lower than those in control group, the differences were statistically significant (P<0.05).Conclusion Emotional nursing can effectively improve the negative emotions and self-behavior management and promote the quality of life of elderly DN patients with long-term hemodialysis.
