Abstract:Objective To investigate the clinical effect and safety of holmium laser under ureteroscope in the treatment of ureteral calculi. Methods A total of 443 cases of patients with ureteral calculi admitted to our hospital from September 2013 to December 2018 were selected as the research subjects, and they were divided into the control group (222 cases) and the observation group (221 cases) according to different treatment methods. The control group was treated with extracorporeal shock wave lithotripsy (ESWL),while the observation group was treated with holmium laser under ureteroscope. The success rate of single lithotripsy, the rate of calculi excretion within 3 weeks and the incidence of serious complications were compared between the two groups. Results The success rate of single lithotripsy in the observation group was 97.28% (215/221),which was higher than that in the control group accounting for 75.23% (167/222),and the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05).The rate of calculi excretion within 3 weeks in the observation group was 100.00% (221/221),which was higher than that in the control group accounting for 83.33% (185/222),and the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05).The total incidence rate of serious complications in the observation group was lower than that in the control group, and the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05).Conclusion Holmium laser under ureteroscope is a safe and effective method in the treatment of ureteral calculi. It has the advantages of high success rate of single lithotripsy, high rate of the calculi excretion within 3 weeks, fewer serious complications, less trauma and quick postoperative recovery, which is worthy of promotion.
