Abstract:ObjectiveTo study the effect of serum homocysteine (Hcy)in the severity and diagnosis of hypertensive patients.MethodsA total of 80 hypertensive patients in our hospital from January 2016 to August 2017 were selected as the experimental group, including 23 patients with gradeⅠhypertension,40 patients with gradeⅡhypertension and 17 patients with gradeⅢhypertension.80 healthy volunteers in the same period were selected as the control group. The levels of serum Hcy of each group were observed and compared.ResultsThe level of serum Hcy in the experimental group was significantly higher than that in the control group, the level of serum Hcy in patients with gradeⅠhypertension in the experimental group was lower than that in gradeⅡhypertensive patients which was lower than that in gradeⅢ hypertensive patients, the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).The percentage of patients with high Hcyemia was 81.25%in the experimental group, which was significantly higher than that in the control group(15.00%),and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).The higher the level of hypertension, the higher the percentage of patients with high Hcyemia(P<0.05).ConclusionSerum Hcy levels have a key role in the severity and diagnosis of hypertensive patients. The higher the blood pressure, the greater the risk of high Hcyemia, and the higher the level of Hcy in the patient′s serum. Therefore, monitoring serum levels of Hcy in patients with hypertension diagnosis and treatment of patients is of great significance.
