Abstract:Objective To analyze the application of the oretical model of behavior stage transition (TTM) with type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM). Methods A total of 120 T2DM patients who visited the diabetes specialist clinic of our hospital from June 2016 to June 2017 were selected as study objects. They were randomly divided, the experimental group and the control group. Each group had 60 cases. The control group was given the guidance of the routine health education model of diabetes, while the experimental group was given the individualized instruction of TTM. The fasting blood-glucose (FPG), 2-hour post-meal blood glucose (2 h PG), body weight and glycosylated hemoglobin (HbA1c)of two groups were compared at the different time. The health behavior self-efficacy scale of diabetes was used to evaluate the results. Results After 6 months′ education, FPG, 2 h PG, HbA1c and body weight in both groups were significantly lower than those before education (P<0.05). FPG, 2 h PG, body weight and HbA1c of the experimental group at the 6, 9 and the 12th month were all significantly lower than those in the control group (P<0.05). The self-efficacy scores of the experimental group after education were significantly higher than that of the control group, the differences were statistically significant (P<0.05). Conclusion The individualized education guidance of TTM in patients with T2 DM,can control blood glucose significantly and improve self-health efficiency, which is worthy of clinical application.
