Abstract:Objective To explore the application efect of non-precious metal and precious metal porcelain crowns in the elderly oral repair. Methods The clinical data of 184 elderly patients given with oral repair admitted into our hospital from January 2013 to December 2014 were retrospectively analyzed. All patients were divided into the non-precious metal group(n=119 cases)and precious metal group (n=65 cases)according to the different ceramic crown material. The non-precious metal group was given repair of nicochrome, while the precious metal group was given repair of platino.Satisfaction degree at the end-of-follow-up of porcelain-fused-to-metal crowns and improved plaque index grading at 3 and 6 months after porcelain-fused-to-metal crowns were compared between the two groups. Results The satisfaction degree of porcelain crown color(95.4%),marginal compatibility(96.9%),neck margin staining(98.5%),gingival condition(92.3%),and repair body type(98.5%)in patients of the precious metal group was significantly higher than that of the non-precious metal group(84.9%,85.6%,79.8%,80.7%,78.2%)respectively,and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).The grading of the improved plaque index in the precious metal group(grade A:18 cases, grade B:23 cases, grade C:10 cases, grade D:14 cases)after implantation for 3 months was significantly better than that in the non precious metal group(grade A:21 cases, grade B:28 cases, grade C:38 cases, grade D:32 cases),and the grading of the improved plaque index in the precious metal group(grade A:18 cases, grade B:21 cases, grade C:7 cases, grade D:19 cases)after implantation for 6 months was significantly better than that in the non precious metal group(grade A:15 cases, grade B:19 cases, grade C:38 cases, grade D:47 cases)and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion In the elderly dental implant restoration, the precious metal porcelain crown has a significant advantage compared with non precious metal porcelain crown in biocompatibility and aesthetics, and it is beneficial to the periodontal health of the implant.after planting and repairing.
