Abstract:ObjectiveTo investigate the effect of applying seamless care management in emergency department on the transport of critical patients.MethodsThe clinical data of 390 critical patients admitted to the emergency department in our hospital from July 2015 to June 2017 were analyzed. They were divided into the control group (n=190)and the observation group(n=200)by random paper method. The control group was given regular care management, the observation group was given seamless care management. The probability of telephone-connections between departments, the probability of disputes on duties between the two handling parties, the probability of forgetting to hand over the patients, and the scores of handover time, transferring equipment, vital signs, and transferring valuable goods were observed in the two groups.ResultsThe probabilities of telephone-connections between departments, disputeson duties between the two handling parties, and forgetting to hand over the patients in the observation group were lower than that in the control group, the scores of observation time, transferring equipment, vital signs and valuable goods in the observation group were higher than that in the control group, with statistical significance(P<0.05).ConclusionThe use of seamless care management in the emergency department to transfer critical patients can improve the transfer-handover efficiency and nursing satisfaction score by patients, which is worthy of clinical application and promotion.
