Abstract:Objective To explore the clinical effect of acupuncture combined with Dispelling wind activating collaterals empirical decoction for oral administration and fuming and washing dialectically treating acute peripheral paralysis. Methods All of 40 patients with acute peripheral paralysis treated in our hospital from February 2013 to March 2017 were selected as objects and they were divided into the control group(n=70)and observation group(n=70).The control group was given conventional therapy while the observation group was given acupuncture combined with Dispelling wind activating collaterals empirical decoction for oral administration and fuming and washing treatment. The electromyographic findings, facial nerve functional classification and clinical efficacy in patients between the two groups were compared. Results There was no significant difference in amplitude and latency between the two groups before treatment(P>0.05).The amplitude of the two groups after treatment was higher than that before treatment and the latent period was shorter than that before the treatment, the amplitude of the patients in the observation group was higher than that of the control group, and the latent period was shorter than the control group, and the facial nerve function grade was superior to the control group, the total effective rate was higher than that of the control group, and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion For acupuncture combined with Dispelling wind activating collaterals empirical decoction for oral administration and fuming and washing dialectically treating acute peripheral paralysis, the improvement of nerve function is good and the effect is obvious. It is worthy of clinical promotion and application.
