Abstract:Objective To explore the observation and nursing experience of complications after ventriculo-peritoneal shunt in infant hydrocephalus.Methods The clinical data of 21 hydrocephalus infant who had undergone ventriculoperitoneal shunt were collected from January 2011 to December 2014.For the possible postoperative complications,the content of observation and nursing of postoperative symptoms and signs were summarized.Results One case appeared incomplete blocking in ventricular shunt,the examination of CT found the leading end of the ventricular shunt stuck to the midcourt line of paracele wall,through pressing ommaya and changing position frequently,the shunt effect was improved.One case appeared the ventricle shunt complete blocking,through the shunt exploratory operation,it was found that the hole of the ventricular shunt was blocked by floccule,after cleaning up it,and the shunt became unobstructed. One case was found the leakage of cerebrospinal fluid at the cut,after suturing it immediately,and no abnormal situation happened again.The other 18 cases recovered well,and were released from the hospital around half a month.Conclusion Nursing staff may find the postoperative complication as early as possible through the observation of symptoms and signs,such as consciousness,emesis,fonticulus,ommaya,cut,etc,and treat them in time.
