Abstract:Objective To study the clinical effect of modifiled electroconvulsive therapy(MECT)treating depression and influence on serum brain-derived neurotrophicfactor(BDNF)in vivo.Methods From January 2015 to March 2016,a total of 106 patients with depression in our hospital were randomly divided into the study group(n=53)and the control group(n=53).All patients were treated by Escitalopram,and the study group was treated with modifiled electroconvulsive therapy(MECT)on the basis of Escitalopram.Serum BDNF level in vivo was detected and Hamilton DepressionRating Scale for(HAMD)was used to evaluate before and after treatment in all patients.Results Before treatment,serum BDNF in vivo and HAMD score had no statistically significant difference between two groups(P>0.05).After treatment,two above-mentioned indexes in two groups were improved.Serum BDNF level in the study group was significantly higher than that in the control group(P<0.05).HAMD score was also significantly decreased in the study group,the difference between two groups was statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion MECT treatment can improve the serum BDNF level in patients with depression,and serum BDNF may be the relevant indicator of antidepressant efficacy for MECT.
