Abstract:ObjectiveTo investigate the influence of tubal ligation on breastfeeding.Methods180 women underwent tubal ligation from July 2014 to June 2015 were selected. The physiological and psychological status of women before and after the operation were observed. The prolactin level was measured before and after the operation. The psychological status of the patients was scored by the self-rating anxiety scale and self-rating depression scale. The secretion volume and nutrient composition of breast milk in women before and after the surgery were detected.ResultsThe level of prolactin secretion in women after 1 month surgery was lower than that before surgery, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05)and after 1 month surgery, the score of anxiety and depression scale after the surgery was higher than that before surgery, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).After 2 months surgery, the above-mentioned indices were resumed to normal. After 1 month surgery, the secretion volume of breast milk in women reduced compared with before surgery, but there was no statistically significant difference (P>0.05)and after 2 months surgery, the index was resumed to normal. There was no statistically significant difference of the secretion volume of breast milk before and after surgery (P>0.05).ConclusionTubal ligation has a temporary effect on women′s physiology and psychology, but it will recover gradually with time.It does not affect women′s health and breastfeeding.
