Abstract:ObjectiveTo explore relationship between serum plasma 25 hydroxy vitamin D[25(OH)VitD]level and type 2 diabetes mellitus(T2DM)complicated with cerebral infarction.Methods120 patients with T2DM hospitalized in our hospital from January 2015 to June 2016 were selected.Serum lipids, glycated hemoglobin C (HbAlc)and other blood biochemical parameters were detected by automatic biochemical analyzer, plasma 25(OH)VitD level was measured by ELISA.According to brain CT or MRI results, patients with T2DM were divided into with cerebral infarction group(DCI group)or no cerebral infarction group(DNCI group),relationship between plasma 25(OH)VitD level and T2DM complicated with cerebral infarction was analyzed.ResultsThe difference between two groups of gender, body mass index (BMI),duration of diabetes mellitus, systolic blood pressure(SBP),diastolic blood pressure(DBP)and 2-hour postprandial blood glucose(2 h PG)was not statistically significant(P>0.05).However,age,fasting plasma glucose(FPG),glycosylated hemoglobin (HbA1c),carotid artery plaque rate in DCI group was significantly higher than that in DNCI group, while plasma 25(OH)VitD level was significantly lower than that in DNCI group(P<0.05).Logistic regression analysis showed that 25(OH)VitD was an independent protective factor for T2DM complicated with cerebral infarction patients(OR 0.84,95%CI 0.72-0.97,P<0.05),and carotid plaque was an independent risk factor for T2DM complicated with cerebral infarction patients(OR 1.23,95%CI 1.11-1.36,P<0.05).ConclusionPlasma 25(OH)VitD is an independent protective factor for T2DM complicated with cerebral infarction patients.
