Abstract:ObjectiveTo explore the effect of clinical pharmacists′in clinical rational drug usage of patients with diabetes and depression.MethodsAltogether 90 cases of patients with type 2 diabetes and depression who were hospitalized in Department of Endocrinology of Jining Municipal Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine from September to December 2016 were selected and randomly divided into group A,group B and group C by random number table, with 30 cases in each group. All the three groups were treated with antidiabetic drug (Metformin Hydrochloride Sustained Release Tablets),group A was given Sertraline for antidepressant treatment, group B was given Liver-Smoothing and Depress-Relieving Capsules for antidepressant treatment, group C was given the combination of Sertraline and Liver-Smoothing and Depress-Relieving Capsules for antidepressant treatment in addition, and the schene was maken by clinical pharmacists and clinicist;the course of treatment for three groups was 6 weeks. The glycosylated hemoglobin (HbA1c)was adopted for evaluation of pre-and post-treatment blood glucose level in three groups;the self-rating depression scal(SDS)was used for assessment of the pre-and post-treatment depression in three groups;and the treatment emergent symptom scale(TESS)was used for assessment of pre-and post-treatment drug adverse reactions in three groups;the correlation between HbA1c and depression was analyzed by using Pearson correlation analysis method.ResultsThe pre-treatment HbA1c and SDS scores of three groups were not statistically significant(P>0.05);the posttreatment HbA1c and SDS scores of group C were significantly lower than those of group A and group B(P<0.01);the post-treatment SDS scores of three groups were significantly lower than those before treatment(P<0.01);no statistically significant difference was seen between in post-treatment SDS score;the SDS score of group C was significantly lower than that of group A and group B(P<0.01);there was no adverse reaction was seen in group B,incidence of adverse reac tion of group A was 38.4%,significantly higher than that of group C,there was no adverse reaction was seen in group B(14.7%)(χ2=14.258,P<0.01);the effective rate of group C was 97.4%,significantly higher than that of group A (84.6%) and group B(86.1%)(χ2=9.902,8.350,P<0.01);According to the Pearson correlation analysis,it was shown that HbA1c was positively correlated(r=0.246,P<0.05).ConclusionClinical pharmacists′participation in the medication treatment of patients with diabetes and depression can achieve good clinical results
