Abstract:ObjectiveTo investigate the efficacy of Levofloxacin combined with Azithromycin in the treatment of refractory respiratory tract infections(RTI)in elderly patients.MethodsAltogether 130 cases of elderly patients with refractory RTI who were treated in our hospital from May 2015 to December 2016 were randomly selected as the object of this research and randomly divided into observation group(n=65)and control group(n=65);control group were treated with Levofloxacin;observation group were treated with combination of Levofloxacin and Azithromycin;the total effective rate, remission time of clinical symptoms and incidence of adverse reaction of two groups were compared.ResultsThe total effective rate of observation group was 98.46%,higher than that of control group(84.62%)(P<0.05);the incidence of adverse reaction of observation group was 6.15%,slightly higher than that of control group(4.62%)(P>0.05);the disappearance time of cough, fever and pulmonary rales of observation group was shorter than that of control group,P<0.05;IL-8,CRPand TNF-α levels of observation group in the 7 th treatment day were lower than those of control group;and the IL-10 level of observation group was higher than that of control group,P<0.05.ConclusionApplication of combination of Levofloxacin and Azithromycin is effective and safe in the treatment of refractory respiratory tract infections in elderly patients, which is worth popularizing in clinical practice.
