Abstract:ObjectiveTo explore the efficacy of psychological intervention on improving the quality of life of caregivers of patients with advanced cancer.MethodsFrom January 2016 to June 2016,120 caregivers of patients with advanced cancer in the Department of Oncology of People′s Hospital of Sanshui district Foshan City were selected and randomly divided into the observation group and the control group.The caregivers in intervention group were provided routine education and psychological intervention.The caregivers in control group were only provided routine education.The life quaility were compared between two groups.ResultsBefore intervention,there were no significant differences among the scores of indexes of life quality in two groups(P>0.05);after intervention,the total score of quality life,the score of physical,psychological and social relations in the observation group were increased,and compared with those before intervention,the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05),but there were no statistically significant differences in the control group between those before and after intervention(P>0.05).The total score of quality life,the score of psychological and social relations in the observation group were higher than those in the control group,and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).ConclusionThe psychological intervention can effectively improve the quality of life of caregiversofpatients with advanced cancer.
