Abstract:Objective To explore the clinical effect of Masquelet technique combined with Yanghe Decoction in the treatment of tibial osteomyelitis. Methods A total of 78 patients with tibial osteomyelitis admitted to the First Department of Trauma, Yangchun Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine from July 2015 to May 2016 were selected as the research objects, and they were divided into group A (n=39) and group B (n=39). Group A was treated with Masquelet technology and Yanghe Decoction, while group B was treated with Masquelet technology alone. The callus growth score, fracture healing time and complication rate of the two groups were compared. Results The callus growth score in group A was higher than that in group B at 3 months and 6 months after treatment, the differences were statistically significant (P<0.05); the fracture healing time in group A was significantly shorter than that in group B, the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05); the incidence rates of adverse events of lower limb deep vein thrombosis (DTV), impaired liver and kidney function, and recurrence of symptoms in group A were lower than those in group B, and the differences were statistically significant (P<0.05). Conclusion The treatment of tibial osteomyelitis patients with Yanghe Decoction and Masquelet technique can achieve better therapeutic effect, accelerate callus growth, shorten fracture healing time, reduce complication rate and relieve patients′ discomfort.
