Abstract：Objective To explore the clinical effect of Dexamethasone (DMXS) in the treatment of lobar pneumonia.Methods A total of 102 children with lobar pneumonia treated in our hospital from June 2018 to June 2019 were selected as subjects and divided into two groups through stratified sampling method,51 cases in each group.The control group received routine treatment measures such as anti infection,cough and asthma relief;on the basis of routine treatment,the study group took DMXS.The curative effect,symptom relief time,hospital stays and inflammatory factors were compared between the two groups. Results The total effective rate in the study group (92.16%) was higher than that of control group (78.43%),with statistical difference (P<0.05);the relief time of symptoms like high fever,cough and lung rale,hospital stays in the study group were shorter than those of control group,with statistical differences (P<0.05).Before treatment,tumor necrosis factor-α(TNF-α),interleukin-8(IL-8)and interleukin-6(IL-6)between groups showed no statistically significant differences (P＞0.05),after treatment,the levels of TNF-α,IL-8 and IL-6 in the study group were lower than those of control group,with statistical differences (P<0.05).Conclusion DMXS can shorten the symptom relief time,improve the inflammatory index and treatment effect,and promote children′s fast recovery.
