Abstract:Objective To explore the clinical effect of Modified Xuanfu Daizhe Decoction combined with Western medicine in the treatment of hiccups after stroke. Methods A total of 100 patients with hiccup after stroke in the Department of Neurology of Shenyang Orthopaedic Hospital, Chengji Hospital from December 2018 to June 2019 were selected as the research objects. They were divided into Chlorpromazine group and combined treatment group by random number table method, 50 cases in each group. Chlorpromazine group received routine clinical treatment, Chlorpromazine Hydrochloride 25 mg/time, twice a day, orally. Patients in the combined treatment group were given Modified Xuanfu Daizhe Decoction on the basis of Chlorpromazine group. The treatment period for both groups was 21 days. The scores of hemiplegia, slurred speech, crooked mouth, constant hiccups in the throat, general weakness and dull pain in the gastric cavity were compared between two groups before and after treatment. The Wang′s scale score and hiccup efficacy score were compared between two groups before and after treatment. The blood Ca2+ and Na+ levels of the two groups of patients before and after treatment were compared. The total effective rate was compared between the two groups. Results The scores of hemiplegia, slurred speech, crooked mouth, constant hiccups in the throat, general weakness and dull pain in the gastric cavity of the two groups after treatment were lower than those before treatment, and the differences were statistically significant (P<0.05). The scores of hemiplegia, slurred speech, crooked mouth, constant hiccups in the throat, general weakness and dull pain in the gastric cavity of patients in the combined treatment group were lower than those in the Chlorpromazine group after treatment, and the differences were statistically significant (P<0.05). The hiccup efficacy scores of the two groups after treatment were lower than those before treatment, and the differences were statistically significant (P<0.05). The hiccup efficacy score of patients in the combined treatment group after treatment was lower than that in the Chlorpromazine group, and the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05). The Wang′s scale scores of the two groups after treatment were higher than those before treatment, and the differences were statistically significant (P<0.05). The Wang′s scale score after treatment in the combined treatment group was higher than that in the Chlorpromazine group, the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05). The serum Ca2+and Na+ levels of the two groups after treatment were higher than those before treatment, and the differences were statistically significant (P<0.05). The blood Ca2+and Na+levels of the patients in the combined treatment group were higher than those in the Chlorpromazine group after treatment, and the differences were statistically significant (P<0.05).The total effective rate of clinical treatment of patients in the combined treatment group was 94.00%, which was higher than 66.00% in the Chlorpromazine group, and the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05). Conclusion The application of Modified Xuanfu Daizhe Decoction on the basis of Western medicine treatment can have a better therapeutic effect on hiccups after stroke. It can effectively improve patients with hemiplegia, hiccups and other symptoms, and balance blood Ca2+and blood Na+levels in the body.
